RMC’s core business consists of the procurement, processing and sale of secondary commodities such as waste paper, metal, plastics and glass. The company owns and operates material recovery facilities which receive recyclable material (primarily post-consumer) in a commingled form and sort and process that material to market specifications for the various commodities produced. These facilities produce large volumes of ONP (old newspaper), OCC (old corrugated cardboard), SMP (sorted mixed paper), UBC (used beverage cans), steel cans, glass cullet (broken glass bottles sorted by color), mixed bottle cullet (finely crushed glass fragments), HDPE (high density polyethylene) bottles, PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles and other plastic scrap for sale to international and domestic consumers of these materials.
